About Me

Prashant Joshi at a glance

I’m Prashant Joshi-an engineer, business leader, and entrepreneur with 29 years of experience across engineering design, automotive, product development, enterprise software, consulting, and B2B procurement. My work has always revolved around a simple idea: build systems that are useful, sustainable, and honest.

A Journey Across Engineering, Business Leadership, and Entrepreneurship

I began my career in 1996 as an engineer working on design and manufacturing challenges. Over the next decade, I moved into engineering software and PLM, helping companies adopt technology that improved their product development processes. My work at PTC exposed me to complex manufacturing setups, enterprise needs, and system-level problem solving.

For ten years, I led the engineering business at Hi-Tech eSoft, scaling it from a one-room team to a 400-people multi-location organization with domestic and international clients. Those years shaped my understanding of business strategy, P&L ownership, team building, and execution discipline.

In 2015, I founded Nine Software Solutions – a process-first systems company, under which I built our flagship supply chain consolidation solutions – Shoppeboard – a procurement consolidation solution serving 200+ large and mid-sized enterprises, built with a frugality-first mindset and a focus on transparency, reliability, and customer success. Under NSS, I continue to explore new initiatives around systems, operational intelligence, and frugal automation.

What Defines Me

Systems Thinker

I naturally look for patterns, structures, and root causes. Whether in engineering or business, I believe every problem is a system problem.

Purpose-Driven Leader

I value integrity, transparency, customer-first thinking, and meaningful work over vanity metrics or hype.

Builder at Heart

Whether running a P&L, developing new solutions, or creating processes, I love building things that last.

Marathoner Mindset

Running long distances taught me the power of pace, patience, and consistency. I bring the same mindset to work and leadership.

My Beliefs

  • Purpose over profit
  • Frugality over funds
  • Knowledge over code
  • Progress over perfection
  • Customer obsession beats competition
  • Transparency builds trust
  • Self-care is strategy

Purpose

I believe businesses thrive when systems are simple, processes are transparent, and decisions are grounded in real-world knowledge. My work, whether as a P&L leader or as a founder, has always focused on improving the way organizations operate. I build processes, tools, and frameworks that help companies grow steadily, sustainably, and free of chaos.

Outside Work

When I’m not thinking about systems and processes, I’m usually running. Marathon training keeps me grounded, disciplined, and mentally clear. I also enjoy reading about philosophy, entrepreneurship, and system design, and occasionally share my thoughts through short writings and relatable reflections about the founder journey.

If there’s one thing my journey has taught me, it’s this: nothing beats steady progress, honest work, and genuine customer relationships. Everything else is noise.
